What we collect and why

Statistics (Google Analytics), only if you agree

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and how they find the site. It runs with Google Consent Mode, and analytics storage is set to "denied" until you make a choice in our cookie banner.

  • Before you choose, and if you select Reject, no Google Analytics cookies are set. Google's tag still loads and sends Google cookieless measurement pings, marked as not consented (for example, that a page was viewed).
  • If you select Accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_T0G9JXYXQ1 and records your visit: for example, the pages you view, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your IP address.

The banner offers one optional category, Statistics, and Google Analytics is the only tag on the site that uses your choice. Google's advertising features stay off: even after you select Accept, ad storage and ad personalization stay "denied". The site shows no ads and has no advertising tags.

Your cookie choice (Complianz)

Our cookie banner is provided by the Complianz plugin. It saves your choice in cookies whose names start with cmplz_ (for example, cmplz_statistics). These cookies hold only your choice and last up to 365 days. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button at the bottom of every page.

Contact form

If you use the form on our Contact page, we receive your name, email address, subject, and message. The form also asks a simple math question to block spam. Your message is sent by email to [email protected] so that we can reply. The website does not save form messages in its database.

Site search

When you search the site, your search words are sent in the page address (URL). The website does not save your searches.

Hosting, delivery, and security (Hostinger and Cloudflare)

The site is hosted by Hostinger and delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site, their servers process the technical data your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for.

Cloudflare also measures page views and loading speed for us with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It loads a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sets no cookies.

Fonts (Google Fonts)

The site's font, Inter, is loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). To send you the font, Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google Fonts sets no cookies.

What the site does not do

  • Comments are turned off. The site does not accept comments.
  • There are no visitor accounts or sign-ups.
  • The site shows no ads.

These companies may process data outside the UK, including in the United States.

  • Consent cookies (cmplz_): up to 365 days.
